A University education should engage not only ones’ mind but also those around them. The mission of the University of Winnipeg Filipino Students’ Association (UWFSA) is to heighten Filipino cultural awareness and promote active participation in the Filipino Community. The UWFSA will initiate programs that will link the Filipino Community with the University. The goal is simple: to inspire and work towards a positive future through cultural understanding and higher education.The UWFSA seeks to provide an environment for all Filipino and non-Filipino students that will develop greater social and cultural awareness at the University of Winnipeg and the Filipino community. Therefore, the UWFSA aims to provide the programming necessary for students to learn, educate and share Filipino cultural, political, and social issues through media, workshops, and special events.
